For some of us the New Year has a new meaning…hitting the Little Miracles auction campaign hard. With barely over 3 months to prepare, the Auction committee (and any new members we are able to brain wash recruit to our worthy cause) will soon be hard at work planning for our 2009 event.

Here are some pictures from last year’s preparation which will give you a glimpse into what it’s like for a boutique real estate office (working full time as Realtors and trying to raise money for CMN in our “spare” time) looks like.  Although exhausting, we sure had a great time. (Except for when the clock neared midnight)

Last year the Little Miracles Auction Committee decided to incorporate into our annual event, the recognition of someone in our Community who makes a difference in the life of a sick or disabled child. We all know there are many heroes among us who work diligently on behalf of one or more children.

Last year Ken Eide, a Special Education teacher at Shadow Lake Elementary was presented with the first annual “Miracle Maker” award. Mr. Eide was recognized for his ongoing dedication to some of the most profoundly disabled children in Maple Valley. He was long overdue for recognition! A teacher who goes above & beyond with his care & nurturing of not only his students but their families, it was our honor to bestow upon Ken, along with an eloquently delivered introduction by Ty Tomlinson and a special appearance by Miss Peyton Tomlinson (one of Ken’s students) the 2008 Miracle Maker of the year award.

We welcome your nominations for the 2009 Miracle Maker of the Year award. Please either email or comment on this post.

We are in the process of converting our website into a blogsite format so please be sure and check back as there will be many more changes to come. This new format will be able to better catalog the donations of our generous sponsors and keep our dedicated guests more up to date with the events of this year’s auction. I don’t know that we’ve 100% settled on a theme yet, so please do check back. And if you have any great theme ideas, please share!
